Distribution, Marketing and Exchange

Distribution is the way a product can be consumed.
For example a film can be consumed by: digital or streamed viewings at a cinema, it can be bought or rented at a shop, it can be viewed on the internet or it can be handed out as freebie at film events of in a paper.
Marketing is the way the consumers can become aware of the product.
For example: premiers of the film, trailers in a cinema, posters, billboards, magzines, paper reviews, interviews, internet popups, it could be followed or posted on social networkings sites such as: Facebook, Twitter or Bebo. Or it could be passed on by word of mouth.
Exchange is the different methods a product can be consumed.
A film can be: viwed as a one off at the cinema, it can be purchased or rented on video/DVD either Blu-ray, HD, 3D, it could be viewed on TV or streamed or downloaded off the internet. It can also be bought and then passed on which is also a form of exchange.
When we will be making our film noir extract we will have to consider and research our methods of distribution, marketing and exchange. We will need to carryout some desktop and primary research to find out the most noticed form of advertising and then come to a conclusion to which method we will choose.
